Once again check the sign!!!

Chris and I were sitting in the Seattle airport last night and we watched a man walk into the women's bathroom. He came out all flustered and embarrased! I think he noticed that some things were missing...urinals! :)

My lunch date in SEATTLE

The other day Chris was going on and on about what a wonderful wife, mother and over all woman I am. :) He decided to surprise me with something big! So, Monday Chris, S and I boarded a plane headed for Seattle. Chris had decided to flit me off to the coast for some much needed sunshine and seafood! He spared no expense and chartered a flight with none other than our six month old son to fly the plane! Here is S in the pilot's seat of a medium sized air craft.

I got to be his co-pilot.
Really we went to Seattle for a job interview and the pilot took these pics and e-mailed them to me. I love Southwest! Such service! Before we touched down the pilot gave a shout out over the loudspeaker to his "little buddy S up front" ! :)

Beauty

A man sat at a metro station in Washington, DC and started to play the violin; it was a cold January morning. He played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes. During that time, since it was rush hour, it was calculated that thousands of people went through the station, most of them on their way to work.Three minutes went by and a middle aged man noticed there was a musician playing. He slowed his pace and stopped for a few seconds and then hurried up to meet his schedule.A minute later, the violinist received his first dollar tip: a woman threw the money in the till and without stopping continued to walk.A few minutes later, someone leaned against the wall to listen to him, but the man looked at his watch and started to walk again. Clearly he was late for work. The one who paid the most attention was a 3 year old boy. His mother tagged him along, hurried but the kid stopped to look at the violinist. Finally the mother pushed hard and the child continued to walk turning his head all the time. This action was repeated by several other children. All the parents, without exception, forced them to move on.In the 45 minutes the musician played, only 6 people stopped and stayed for a while. About 20 gave him money but continued to walk their normal pace. He collected $32. When he finished playing and silence took over, no one noticed it. No one applauded, nor was there any recognition. No one knew this but the violinist was Joshua Bell, one of the best musicians in the world. He played one of the most intricate pieces ever written with a violin worth 3.5 million dollars. Two days before his playing in the subway, Joshua Bell sold out at a theater in Boston and the seats average $100.This is a real story. Joshua Bell playing incognito in the metro station was organized by the Washington Post as part of an social experiment about perception, taste and priorities of people. The outlines were: in a commonplace environment at an inappropriate hour:
Do we perceive beauty?
Do we stop to appreciate it?
Do we recognize the talent in an unexpected context?
One of the possible conclusions from this experience could be: If we do not have a moment to stop and listen to one of the best musicians in the world playing the best music ever written, how many other things are we missing?

I love pictures!!!

We had a white New Year so we built a wall. It started out as a fort/iglooish thing then we moved it to a wall.
It took an hour and a half and then I went in the house and it fell! Crazy!

But, it looked great and it was fun! Now the sun has come out and the rain has come and all the snow is gone. :)

I love sleeping pictures. This one S was hanging out in his car seat and wiggled out and then fell asleep with his head still in.

This is C I went to check on him and these are his little fingers poking out under the door. Sound asleep!

Maybe you have noticed that I love pictures. There are usually five on every post. If I could figure out how to put 20 on I would! So, here are some more...

More Holiday

S eating sweet potatoes. Hooray
C getting sleepy on New Year's Eve

My little joys in their Christmas duds. Don't they look great!!!

And I love this. This was the evening of the 26th. We had played with our toys all day and then they picked up their brown paper bags and started having sack races! Even at 4 and almost 6 the paper is always the most fun!
